Club Championships

The Annual Club Championship is designed solely for all students who wish to compete against the best our school has to offer.  Only the Top 20 ranked members qualify for this single elimination event.  The 2008 Edition was once again filled with some of the best Northern Michigan has to offer.  Early elimination matches provided lots of action with only the top survivors advancing.

Semifinals & Championship Match

The battles continued to rage throughout the semifinal and final matches.  Jacob and Hannah marched thru their brackets. The Championship Match proved to be a "record setter" as Jacob immediately put Hannah on the defensive and used "Scholars Mate" to checkmate her in a club record 4 moves!  Congratulations to Jacob, Hannah, and everyone who participated in Chess Club this year.  We look forward to returning our strongest team ever next year.
